Issue #3 of the 2016 The Decorative Painter magazine is in the mail! Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce you to the artists in the current issue and share the inspiration behind their finished projects.
This week, meet Sayuri Kitagawa MDA!
Sayuri started painting 20 years ago. She joined SDP in 2008 and became an MDA in 2014. Sayuri’s project in this issue of the magazine is titled “Christmas Roses”. Here’s a little bit about what she had to say about it.
“My project is for the intermediate skilled painter. A twinkling Christmas rose and an ornament ball in the cold air on a holy silent night inspired me to paint this design. I tried to make even some faint twinkles by reducing the whole intensity by using mainly green, yellow green and yellow hues.
Some of the supplies I used are Jo Sonja’s Clear Glaze Medium, Jo Sonja’s Kleister Medium, and Winsor & Newton Refined Linseed Oil.
I hope you enjoy painting my project!”
